Value for money without sacrificing efficiency

Even if passion sometimes outweighs reason, budget is one of the elements that filter the choice of blank. If the wallet isn't thick or you don't use it often, you need to opt for good value for money. Opting for such blanks can be a very good choice, as it allows you to mount a rod by technique or by specificity and really have the rod that corresponds to the use you want to make of it. It's also a way of satisfying the incessant need to mount rods. Start configuration

There's no room for error when luring Trout, whatever the biotope! A big river Trout is a formidable fighter that will only give up once it has been netted. A torrent Trout is a real devil of the currents, leaping more than it swims. The fight, all power, is generally punctuated by candles, the fish using the current to accentuate the pressure on the tackle. A progressive blank is necessary to maximize the chances of catching a fish. Because tight budgets don't mean cheap blanks, we've selected for you 3 little bombs for Trout with unbeatable value for money. With these blanks, you'll no longer be afraid to take them to the roughest spots, and you'll be able to practice just as well in a stream covered in foliage as in a medium or large river. These 3 Rodbuilders' Republic Blanks are in intermediate modulus. Length can be adapted to suit the environment in which you're fishing.

  1. Rodbuilders' Republic PPS 54UL 1m63, 1.5-7g: One of the best sellers for wading stream fishing. The blank is as comfortable with a spoon as with a 30 or 38mm Powertail, or a chubby minnow.
  2. Rodbuilders' Republic PPS 62L 1m87, 2-10g: A slightly longer and more powerful blank than the 54UL. Suitable for medium-sized rivers. It's equally at home with small swimming fish and 70mm soft lures. Don't hesitate to use it on Perch too, it's great fun for summer fishing.
  3. Rodbuilders' Republic PPS 70L-2 Blank : This blank is excellent for Trout fishing in medium-sized rivers or streams but from the shore. In the low range, it will be perfect with a 43 buffet minnow or a 2gr spoon. On the high range, it will easily handle a contact 63 or an Artist minnow 70. In the event of a big surprise, its progressiveness will be an asset. Occasionally, it can also be used to fish for Chub on woodloose. Even at low range, it offers an excellent feel for the lure.

Our recommended handles

When walking along riverbanks, especially at the start of the season to avoid trampling spawning beds, you may need to make ultra-precise underarm casts. For example, behind a stump or a boulder a few metres away. In these conditions, a short handle of less than 30cm will be more comfortable. It will also be more comfortable for energetic wrist twitches. Trout are very wary, so avoid flashy finishes. But once again, it's up to you to choose the rod that suits your needs. To keep Blanks as light as possible, we offer 3 Skeleton handle kits. Please let us know the desired length between butt and reel foot so that we can adjust the bushings. You can also ask us to change the color of the handle kit rings (while stocks last).

Compatible guides

We offer 3 Fuji Guide packs in different finishes, to suit different budgets and frequencies of use. The first segment of the range is occupied by Alconite ceramic Guides with an Inox frame, offering excellent value for money for occasional use. The frame of these Guides is made of Inox with an anti-corrosion coating. The Alconite ceramic provides good glide and a high heat dissipation rate for the braid, but take care not to spool dry fly braid onto these guides. The second level of the range is occupied by SIC ceramic and Inox-framed Guides. In this Guide range, the frame is still made of coated stainless steel, but the ceramic is made of Fuji SIC, which offers better glide and greater resistance. Finally, the top of the Fuji range is represented by the Titanium-Torzite Guides. The Titanium frame is much lighter and, above all, totally insensitive to corrosion. The ceramic is made from Torzite, another Fuji proprietary material that enables the braid to glide perfectly over the ceramic. This ultra-high-performance ceramic requires less material, enabling the use of smaller tunnel guides. Less weight = greater sensitivity and performance.
